It started last Wednesday, when audio of KTLA reporter Rich Demuro asking an intern for a cup of coffee accidentally aired at the top of a report on cell phone bans. It was a common-enough mistake (remember this?), but the Los Angeles station handled it in a very uncommon way.

Instead of ignoring the gaffe, KTLA staffers have turned “Irene the Coffee Intern” into a running joke, featuring her delivering coffee on-air to KTLA anchors and reporters (watch above).

(And yes, that is Henry DiCarlo — who has already made viral news once this week — featured prominently in the coffee montage.)
