WABC Salutes Retiring Reporter Art McFarland

mcfarland retiringArt McFarland is retiring from New York ABC owned station WABC after 31 years there and the station posted pictures of a celebration it had in his honor on its facebook page.

“Celebrating one of our favorite people, Art McFarland!” wrote WABC on its facebook page. “We wish Art nothing but the best, and invite you to share your good wishes here too! Thank you Art McFarland!!!”

McFarland announced his retirement earlier this month. “After more than three decades of having the honor of being an Eyewitness News Reporter, I am leaving to face new challenges. It is, literally, time to turn the page. My last day is at the end of this month.”

If TVSpy’s math is correct he started in 1983 since McFarland’s bio says he started at WABC “in the mid 1980′s” and the WABC facebook post said 31 years.
