WCAX Reporter Andy Potter to Retire After 14 Years

WCAX, the CBS-affiliate in Burlington, VT, is saying goodbye to reporter Andy Potter after 14 years.

Potter, a Vietnam veteran, announced his retirement on Friday, citing a desire to slow down after his recent knee-replacement surgery. “It’s been an honor to be able to tell the stories of Vermonters over the years,” said Potter in a statement. “I’m looking forward to a slower beat in the days ahead.”

The veteran journalist, a graduate of Vermont’s Middlebury College, worked at several local radio stations before joining WCAX in 1997. “Andy has promised he will help us with special projects,” said news director Anson Tebbetts. “Don’t be surprised to see Andy in the future.”
