Troubled weathercaster Heidi Jones is reportedly nearing a plea deal in her case, as she faces charges of filing a false police report about a would-be assailant in Central Park.

We’re involved in active discussions for a possible resolution of this case,” Jones’s lawyer told a Manhattan criminal judge on Wednesday, according to the Daily News.

Jones and her lawyer did not speak to reporters as they excited the courthouse Wednesday morning. She is due back in court on May 4th.

According to court documents, Jones admitted to police last December that she had fabricated a story about a man attempting to assault her while she was out jogging.

Although WABC has remained silent about the matter, Jones’ Bio no longer appears on the station’s website and last month the station posted a job opening for a full-time weather anchor.
