Greensboro CBS-affiliate WFMY is revamping its morning show.
WFMY promises to “break the cookie-cutter morning news formula” with its new iteration of the “Good Morning Show,” which is getting a new team, along with a new format, this spring.
“The ‘Good Morning Show’ has great history in this market, and now a fresh future,” WFMY president and general manager Larry Audas said, announcing the revamp.
Meghan Packer, who has been anchoring the 4:30 a.m. news for WFMY since the beginning of the year, will join Chilton and Fernandez to provide news updates throughout the show. The revamped “Good Morning Show,” which will run 5:00 to 8:00 a.m. weekdays, will also feature reporters Tracey McCain and Patrick Phillippi.
WFMY also announced this week that, as a result of the morning shakeup, meteorologist Grant Gilmore will step into the lead evening weather position, appearing on WFMY’s 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
