Kendis Gibson, weekend anchor for WJLA, the Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate, told TVSpy he was joking when he called NBA star Dwayne Wade overrated.

Gibson was voicing a story about the Miami Heat player this weekend when he added in a bit of his own opinion about the basketball star saying,

“That is Dwayne Wade, the overrated NBA star…uh…who was in town for a book signing…”

Gibson told TVSpy, “it was part of an ongoing joke with my co anchor who is a huge Miami Heat fan.”

Wade’s Miami Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the NBA Championship in June.
