WMAQ Turns Political Blog Into Weekly Show

Chicago’s WMAQ is turning Ward Room, the station’s popular political blog, into a weekly show.

The program will be hosted by political editor Carol Marin (pictured) and political reporter Mary Ann Ahern. It will air on Friday nights at 7pm on a digital subchannel of the NBC O&O.

WMAQ station manager and vice president of news Frank Whittaker called Ward Room a “destination blog” for political news.

“Expanding the Ward Room brand to a weekly show is a natural evolution, especially as we are headed into a presidential election year,” he said in a statement.
