WMC Report on Local Teen Pregnancy Epidemic Lands on ‘Today’

Memphis NBC-affiliate WMC reported last week that 90 students at a local high school are either pregnant or have recently given birth.  The staggering figure caught the attention of “Today” producers and the show aired its own report on Wednesday morning, with Ron Mott reporting live outside of Memphis’s Frayser High School.

WMC anchor Ursula Madden delivered the original “breaking news” segment, saying, “it’s a number that shocked our newsroom.”

Memphis CBS affiliate WREG followed up on the pregnancy epidemic at Frayser High School, airing its own report in which reporter Bonny Kinney spoke with a recent graduate who has two kids.
