WNBC Moves New York Live to Midday

As TV stations across the country prepare to debut the new Fall syndicated shows — from the likes of Katie Couric, Jeff Probst, and Steve Harvey — other shows are being shifted. In New York, WNBC which will air the Probst and Harvey hours, will be moving the locally-produced New York Live from 3pm to 12:30pm, and cutting it in half. In the process, longtime anchor Jane Hanson will be leaving WNBC, again. Hanson (left) tells FishbowlNY, “It just didn’t work for me for a number of different reasons. One of them is financially. There wasn’t the same kind of pay involved. I just could not afford to take that job.”

Hanson and the show’s EP Amy Rosenblum are launching a new company called The Media Masters which aims to train and coach the next crop of TV hosts.

It was thought New York Live would be canceled this Fall, but the shift to 12:30 keeps it on the WNBC schedule. The show started as LX New York and originally aired at 5pm. When WNBC brought back the 5pm news in June 2011, the lifestyle show shifted to 3pm.
