WPLG Sets Up Blog for New Reporter Weeks Before Her Arrival

Reporter Christina Boomer Vazquez isn’t set to begin her new job at WPLG until October but Miami viewers are getting a chance to know her well before then.

The Post-Newsweek station recently launched a blog for Boomer Vazquez on its website, in which she is currently writing about her cross-country move from Phoenix, where she worked as a reporter and MMJ for KNXV, to South Florida.  Accompanying her on the trip are her husband, Mark, and their three-month-old daughter.

Boomer Vazquez was born and raised in the Miami area and she writes that she’s excited to be returning to her roots.

“Miami is a very special place,” reads the debut post of her WPLG blog.  “I’ve spent years missing the food, the music and Miami’s diversity. So saying I am thrilled to be coming back home would be an understatement.” (Check out the blog here).
