WVIT Launches Consumer and Investigative Unit
The commitment to investigative reporting continues at the NBC O&Os. Hartford’s WVIT is launching a consumer and investigative team “focused on tracking down answers to issues and concerns for viewers of the state,” NBC announced today.
WVIT has hired two reporters for the investigative unit: Christopher Coffey and Sabina Kuriakose (pictured). Coffey was most recently a reporter at KTBC in Austin, and Kuriakose joins WVIT from YNN in upstate New York.
The 10-person team, which will include current WVIT reporters Monica Buchanan and Jeff Stoecker, will be led by Sharon Butterworth, who was previously managing editor at the station.
