WXIA Reporter Doug Richards Skewers His Station’s Severe Weather Coverage

Reporter Doug Richards skewered WXIA‘s severe weather coverage during his regular media commentary segment, “Suspicious Package,” this week (video above).

“This TV station used a bunch of HD bandwidth telling you about the weather Monday, but it wasn’t enough to show you the amazing graphics of the menacing storm system sweeping across Georgia,” Richards ranted. No, the Atlanta NBC-affiliate also had to send reporters–Richards included–out in the field to get soaked.

“We want to be out there, giving you, our audience, the combination of information and performance art you have come to expect.”
