WXIA’s Jill Becker Gets a ‘Today’ Show Sendoff

In January, WXIA anchor Jill Becker announced she would retire from the station when her contract is up. After more than two decades anchoring the Atlanta morning show, her final broadcast was this morning.

As an anchor on WXIA, an NBC affiliate, Becker tosses each morning to a “Today” anchor for a short tease. This morning, Matt Lauer, and some Becker fans who were out on the plaza outside 30 Rock, gave Becker a special sendoff (watch the video, above). “I am going to miss you so much,” Lauer said. “You are such a classy lady. You’ve been so great for Atlanta. But most importantly you have been such a great friend to us on this show.”
