WZTV Reporter Erika Lathon Shot After ATM Robbery

Veteran WZTV reporter Erika Lathon was shot overnight after being robbed at an ATM in Nashville.

Lathon was shot in the left arm after being robbed at a Bank of America drive-through ATM at 17th Ave. N. and Church street, according to the station. The incident occurred around midnight. Lathon drove herself a short distance to Baptist Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Lathon complied with the robber’s request for money while in her car, but the male suspect shot her anyway before fleeing the scene. Police are reviewing surveillance video from the bank, according to the Fox affiliate.

The station reported on the incident on Friday’s morning newscasts, with Meagan O’Halloran reporting from the ATM. Watch the report here (WZTV’s video player does not allow embedding).
