2×4, Scher and Sagmeister Boycott National Design Awards Breakfast At White House

The three partners of the NY firm 2×4 said no way to a breakfast hosted by Laura Bush this morning to commemorate the winners of the National Design Awards. Along with 2005 finalists Paula Scher and Stefan Sagmeister, they wrote a letter to the First Lady explaining why. Chip Kidd, a 2006 finalist, declined to sign the letter.
Michael Bierut (who, might we add, was a juror for the same awards) has the exclusive on Design Observer.
