USA Today's Hotel Hot Sheet blog pointed us to a competition the hotel chain Embassy Suites is holding right now asking people to design do not disturb door hangers. Apparently, according to the post, the hot new thing in hotels are making these things clever. Go figure, right? So, anyway, it's kind of a sweet little, low-profile contest. You aren't laying out a corporate logo and receiving a buck fifty for it, you aren't making your own commercial and generating a billion hits for them; you're just throwing on a simple quote and you get a free stay if you win. It reminds us of the simple, quaint, promotions of our rose-colored past. Just please, if you enter, do a better job than the tacky versions they have up on the promotion's website.
