Interesting bit of biography we found by way of Archinect: Spiegel‘s “Albert Speer’s Son, Urban Planner.” It’s about the son of, yep, that Albert Speer, the Nazi architect, who has tried to work with having his father’s legacy always in the background and building a gigantic one of his own in the interim. The son, Albert Speer (Jr.), as you may know, is now one of the creme of the crop in the business who owns his own firm in Frankfurt, employs more than a hundred designers and architects and is being handed high-profile project after high-profile project. The first half of the story is all about his huge successes, likely to build you up for the second half to remind you of his father and how big of a hurdle having that in your background was.
