"Dynamic Architecture": David Fisher Gives Us Something In Dubai That Isn't Insane
We tend to pass on a lot of those "ain't this crazy?!" links we see over to architecture in Dubai, like one making the rounds right now, Koolhaas and his OMA pals' Desert Deathstar. But by way of Eyebeam, we found this one pretty interesting: David Fisher's 'dynamic architecture' skyscraper. And by 'dynamic' it means that the entire building, floor by floor, rotates via windpower. So not only do you get a different view every day if you live or work there, but the people outside the glass never see the same building twice, no matter how many times they pass by. Here's a link to the project, here's where we found it, My Ninja Please, and here's a little bit to get you started: Dynamic architecture marks a new era in architecture. This new approach, based on motion dynamics, is in fact a challenge to traditional architecture that until now was based on gravity. Email This Post |
