Monocle Looks at the Olympic Buildings (Before Things Get Uncomfortable in Beijing)
With yesterday's torch lighting ceremony disrupted by protesters, we have a feeling that everything's going to really start to fall apart with the upcoming Beijing Olympics. You have that much press going in about Tibet, about human rights violations and concerns about safety and preparation and you've got to imagine that some of these things are going to come back to bite. But we don't want to always be perceived as the cynics you believe us to be (even though, secretly, we really are), we turn to Monocle's recent film about the incredible architecture developed for the Olympics. Per usual with Monocle, it's a beautiful, intelligent, lush production and is apt to get you all info'd-up about the look of this year's massive international event. Or, at least, the massive international event before things started getting messy and uncomfortable. Email This Post |
