I've Got Your Real Estate Envy Right Here
Looking to fuel the fires of your ever-smouldering real estate envy and yet, find yourself loathing the thought of suffering the solipism of Woody Allen? And aside from that you definitely realize that such envy extends far beyond the confines of New York City. It's an international phenomenon. Not that long ago, Antony pointed me to AKA Locations, "a location service company representing private properties available for photography, television, film, video and special events. We are based in New York and offer many properties throughout the continental United States, Caribbean, Europe, Africa and the Americas." Their online location library is massive. Knowing well where my own personal envy resides, I made a beeline for the NYC & Boroughs: Residential section, which is where I found the photo I posted here. A rather posh rooftop garden that exists at Property # 50 located in the 10014 zip code. The only balm for my envy is this: Perusing through several different photos and many different location listings, I almost invariably came across incidences of bad taste, not just of the excessively rich Donald Trump style variety. Some people live in gorgeous homes and yet are unable to part with that Mexican blanket they got during Spring Break in college. It makes me feel just a wee bit better about my Pottery Barn square velvet pillows, which are stained and have open maws where the zippers should be and really, truly should have been discarded a long long long time ago. I'm sure I'll get to it... soon. Email This Post |
