Crank up "Clint Eastwood" while you're working today. Gorillaz's co-creator Jamie Hewlitt has been named Designer of the Year by the Design Museum in London. This marks the second major award to go to the Gorillaz team this month; you'll remember we told you about their special achievement Webby Award last week. Hewlitt also created a sweet little comic named "Tank Girl" which unfortunately may be better known to some of you as a horribly frightening movie starring Lori "that chick in Point Break" Petty.

Other nominees for Designer of the Year were furniture designer Tom Dixon, The Guardian redesign team, and Architecture for Humanity's Cameron Sinclair.
