Following up on Wednesday's post about how Italian Vogue took home a win at the 2009 Brit Insurance Designs of the Year award and our talking about reviewing Shepard Fairey's first retrospective yesterday, we combine both topics into one single post with the news this week that Fairey has won the top honor at the aforementioned Brit Awards, with his Obama poster being named the best piece of design for all of 2008. Although Fairey couldn't be there to pick up the award, likely due to everything else he has going on in his life right now, his friend Simon Holmes accepted the award for him (the guy you see in the photo attached). So once again, always a bunch of ups and downs in the life of Shepard Fairey, huh? We were also happy to see that Singgigh S. Kartono took home what was equivalent to the people's choice vote for his Magno Wooden Radio, which was our favorite of everything that got awarded at the awards.
