A Million Little Princes: Richard Prince to Design Cover of James Frey's New Book
The New York Post's Page Six reports that Frey's new novel, Bright Shiny Morning, due in May from HarperCollins, will feature a cover by Prince, who the Post refers to as a friend of Frey. Prince has previously only designed covers for his own books. Plans are also in the works for a limited-edition companion book, on which Frey would collaborate with Prince and photographer Terry Richardson. So, then, can we expect naked Marlboro Men? Tranvestite nurses? Photos of beautiful, sweaty people overlaid with Henny Youngman one-liners? Frey recalled, "When I called and asked Richard if he'd do the cover, he laughed and said something like, '[Bleep], yeah, I'll do it.' And most of Terry's photos will be of girls, cars, and guns. It's going to be a really cool, interesting, edgy book." One thing's for sure. Come spring, this will be the book poking out of all those Prince-designed Louis Vuitton bags. Email This Post |
