A cool project that stumbled onto our collective laps late yesterday: a booklet called, coincidentally enough, "Projects," put together by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is a catalog of information about donating to the organization, which owns such high-profile locales as the recently much-discussed Glass House in Connecticut, which is featured on the cover. While it's really aimed at those kinds of people who are up for donating sums to the tune of $25,000, they're made the brochure available online to download here, for those of with only $10,000 or $15,000 to plunk down (i.e. lowlifes). And you should really take a peep, as the book was designed by everyone's favorite member of Pentagram, and the patron saint of UnBeige, Michael Bierut. Here's a bit:

Michael Bierut, a partner in the firm Pentagram (and the designer of the logo and signage for The Times's new building), designed the booklet. The catalog format makes for a more intimate experience, he explains -- and so does the unusual choice of cover photograph, an image of the house's kitchen with the glorious landscape beyond. "We had to de-familiarize people with the house. It was a chance to take them a bit by surprise."
