Not Sure How Much This Really Fixes Anything, But At Least They're Doing Something?
The World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, still massively underfunded (and the memorial--we think--underdesigned) just announced their new logo, designed by "branding expert" Gene Grossman, responsible for Citibank/Citicorp, Lockheed Martin, and Pfizer (we're trying to figure out how those relate in any way whatsoever to being good at designing anything to do with a memorial), came up with a shifted square with two tower icons rising out of it. We're not feeling it, to be honest. The nice thing about the memorial was that, at least once Peter Walker got on board, it both commemorated loss and looked towards the future. This logo is pretty much straight up commemoration, although Grossman nods towards the a Janus-looking-forward thing.
