'Various Projects' and Friends Design Buttons for Obama
The good people at Various Projects have decided to foray into the land of politics with their Project No. 8: Obama Button Project. Likely brought on after reading Steven Heller's recent piece in the NY Times, they decided that it was high time that the Obama campaign got into the historic world of candidate buttons. So they invited a batch of people, from Pentagram's Christian Marc Schmidt to designer Jeffrey Lai, to put something round and simply together, after which they'd make them, sell them on the site, and donate all the proceeds to the candidate's general election fund. Here's from their intro: This project started with our looking for a good and simple button to wear. It led quickly to designing one ourselves that simply said OBAMA on a blue background. We wore them around and gave them out to whomever asked and kept re-producing them to keep up with interest. It was clear that there was not a shortage of support, but maybe only a shortage buttons. Good, well designed, campaign buttons. Email This Post |
