Know of an outstanding Art Deco gas station that was converted into a cute coffee shop? Or an old steeple church tranformed into a single-family home? Or even an early 20th century parking garage gutted and turned into condominiums?

If so the National Trust for Historic Preservation wants to hear about it: the organization is now accepting nominations for the 2007 National Preservation Awards. Individuals who have been involved in an outstanding preservation project completed in the past three years, or those who know of a corporation, nonprofit organization, public agency, or individual who has helped save a part of America's local or national heritage are encouraged to submit a nomination.

The awards recognize singular success in preserving, rehabilitating, restoring or interpreting our country's architectural and cultural heritage. But all nominations are due March 1. That's two weeks from today. So get those pens out and computers humming to get that application in on time. The nomination form and accompanying materials are only available online.
