DC Comics Rebrands

DC Comics unveiled their new branding today. The New York Times feature, Even Superheros Can Use Some Buffing of the Brand, reports that “The move is one part facelift and one part marketing strategy. The branding may also help take the spotlight away from Marvel comics and its recent box-office successes with Spider-Man and The X-Men.”

Except, in my estimation, the old DC logo (below) was way cooler! This new logo makes me think that they’re more interested in selling washing machines than they are superheros. They seem pretty convinced that it’s great though, judging from the note from the publisher posted on their site.

(Thanks for the tip, Dana.)
