Design Within Reach Launches Nilus de Matran’s DWR: Kitchen

Despite a return to some recent monetary worries, Design Within Reach is following up its launch last May of the small-item Tools for Living collection with the new DWR: Kitchen, which is exactly what it sounds like. Designed by Nilus de Matran, the new outlet is a series of cabinets and islands, all super modern and portable. Although they’re still in the process of launching the new line (orders today will take 8 to 12 weeks to be fulfilled), they’ve put up their first sample on display at their SoHo store. The hardware-free fronts have a timeless aesthetic and appliances can be fitted with matching fronts for an uninterrupted look. Behind the doors and drawers are options such as in-drawer knife storage and spice racks, rolling recycling bins and plate holders that adjust to fit various dishes. The vacuum-closing drawers render slamming impossible and prevent the interior contents from shifting to the back of the drawer.
