Yea or Nay Coming Soon for James Dyson School of Design
Looks like today is do or die for the vacuum king and entrepreneur of inspiration, James Dyson, for the go ahead to build the Dyson School of Design Innovation. Although he has the UK government behind him, ready to help pour money into his coffers for the design and engineering college, he's run into a whole slew of trouble with the location he'd selected for it in the city of Bath, as well as for the architectural plans for the place. A decision is to come down sometime today from the city council and we'll update this post to let you know what goes down. Here's a bit about the city's problems with the whole thing: However, the council is objecting to the school, mainly on aesthetic grounds. Its planning report on the Wilkinson Eyre-designed building states that, 'The height, scale, design and materials are harmful to the setting of listed buildings and to the character and setting of adjacent conservation and World Heritage sites.'
