September 4-10 is Istanbul Design Week, where the thriving design community--named 'Design City' by Wallpaper* in their Design Awards 2007--takes over the city. The activities center on what might be the coolest venue ever, a historic bridge that was damaged by fire in 1992 and resurrected for the event by those forward-thinking designers.
