Moss Los Angeles Opening Night PhotosA quick visual preview before we hang our little party hat up for the night. More Moss to come... As we approached Moss' nondescript white storefront on a super sunny Southern California evening, we spotted the mob of people and sighed...another ridiculous velvet rope entrance? Not at all. The crowd was mostly made up of hottie valets. We asked later and, yes, we actually could touch. We loved the Maarten Baas table and chairs and Tord Boontje's sofa, but what we loved even more was watching the staff sweep partygoers off of them. The Swarovski chandeliers were fantastic, like a garden of diamonds and kryptonite. Those standing among them in the fleeting daylight were lit up like angels. And here's Moss the man, doing what he does best, with California Architect's Newspaper editor Sam Lubell. Men's style was at the top of its form--but maybe because the crowd was about 70% men. Seriously, please do not touch. Maarten Baas, certainly a virtuoso when it came to playing charred 1938 Steinway Baby Grands. But he did not play "Chariots of Fire." Email This Post |
