UnBeige readers, the Armory Show is once again upon us, and while the approximately 50,000 expected visitors surely will have less money to spend in this, its 11th year, there is more art than ever to spend it on (oh supply and demand, you are a fickle pair). For the first time, dead artists are invited to the party as the fair introduces the Armory Show - Modern, a section dedicated to dealers specializing in historically significant Modern and contemporary art. Punctuating the public areas of the fair are a new series of Special Projects: large-scale works and site-specific installations that transcend individual booths. Enter Kenny Scharf. In addition to the five-paneled, 50-foot-long mural he spray-painted onsite outside of the fair's main venue (Pier 94), the artist is represented by "Carzy Roy-Al" (2007), his customized, grinning golf cart (pictured above). Look for Carzy puttering about the fair and offering rides between piers. Who's driving? A spaceman who will occasionally serve donuts.

And if you get carsick, simply stop by the Ronald Feldman Fine Arts booth, host of the "The Volksboutique Armory Apothecary" project, where visitors have the opportunity to describe their maladies to artist Christine Hill, who will prescribe remedies for a small fee. Our prescription? Just go. The Armory Show opens to the public tomorrow and is up through Sunday, as are oodles of satellite fairs and events throughout New York City.
