A couple months ago, slightly bored (shhhh) with the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit on view at the Skyscraper Museum, we stumbled across Douglas Levere's work -- a picture taken with the same camera and of the exact same-frame location as 1930's photographer Berenice Abbott. We were absolutely taken with it, in a way that we rarely are by photography that isn't, um, "arty."

Douglas kindly emailed us (a good reader!) to let us know that more of his work is on show at the Museum of the City of New York as the exhibition "New York Changing: Revisiting Berenice Abbott's New York."

We realize we've been awfully on the intellectual grindstone all day, but we've actually, for real, got a bad case of interest in the urban condition. And this project hits the point; it's simple, and smart. Just how we like our reality.
