Fabien Baron to Rebrand Gianfranco Ferre and More Revolving Door Action
Of course, the really big news in the design world is the engagement of our very own Fearless Leader Steve (why not send him a congratulatory Pacemaker?), but here’s our roundup of some other recent moves and shake-ups:
Gianfranco Ferre: Fabien Baron has been named external art director for the fashion house.
Fast Company: Jana Meier, formerly senior associate art director at Portfolio, yesterday joined the magazine as deputy art director.
Elle Decor: Louis Bofferding will now write a column for the magazine. He was previously a decorative arts contributing editor at Domino.
Rockwood Management Group: The new NYC-based consultancy for the contemporary and young designer fashion industry has hired Spike Hubbard to handle graphic design, art direction, and creative services. Hubbard previously worked for French design firm M/M.
Bottega Veneta: The Gucci-owned fashion house has selected British artist Sam Taylor-Wood to shoot its spring advertising campaign.
Banana Republic: Tomorrow Simon Kneen will join the Gap-owned brand as executive vice president of design and creative director. Kneen spent the past five years as creative design director for Retail Brand Alliance.
