Ecco Domani Announces Fashion Foundation Award Winners
With a list of past winners that includes Peter Som (2002), Zac Posen (2003), and Rodarte (2006), the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (EDFF) awards are a good place to look for the design stars of tomorrow. The Italian winemaker has announced the winners of the eighth round of awards, including the inaugural EDFF award for sustainable design. WWD announced today:
The recipients are Lyn Devon, Matthew Ames, Cushnie et Ochs by Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, and Ohne Titel by Alexa Adams and Flora Gill in the women's design category. Corpus, by Jerrod Cornish and Keith Richardson, was honored for men's design, and jeweler Monique Péan won for accessories.EDFF award recipients receive grants of $25,000 to help cover the costs of showing their collections during New York Fashion Week, which kicks of on February 13. Judges for the competition included Marylou Luther, Kim Hastreiter, Sally Singer, and Julie Gilhart.The foundation's inaugural award for sustainable design went to Bodkin Brooklyn designers Eviana Hartman and Samantha Pleet, who create bags out of old leather jackets.
