Fast Company’s Design Issue Is a Master of Advertising Revenue

Despite the fact that design’s just a fad, we did like Fast Company’s Masters of Design issue, and it turns out a lot of other people did, too:

Fast Company magazine today announced that its third annual MASTERS OF DESIGN (October) issue, on newsstands now, has drawn great response from several new advertisers that include Microsoft Windows Mobile, AT&T Small Business, Bose, Casio, and My M&Ms. This year’s MASTERS OF DESIGN issue showed a 12% increase in advertising pages over last year’s issue.

We’ve always claimed that slapping “design” on the cover sells magazines; now it seems we have the facts to back ourselves up.

And where there’s big ad money, there’s a party! The Masters of Design themselves, four choice folks plucked from the issue’s pages, were honored last week in NY: Jochen Zeitz, CEO, Puma; Paula Scher, Partner, Pentagram; Steve McCallion, Creative Director, Ziba Design; Clive Wilkinson, Architect. The event featured an interactive gallery of the Masters’ work and Fast Company design picks of the year, plus the “Next Generation” designers were recognized.
