If We Were Reader's Digest, This Would Be the 'Lighter Side of Design' Page
We're a little wiped out late this week from putting too much on our proverbial plates and trying to stuff it all down to our metaphorical stomachs (how's that for some horrible writing, huh?), so this writer leaves you with a bit of the funny. But rest easy, as it's all pretty much completely design related. First up, by way of Daring Fireball, comes Ironic Sans' new term for the result of not kerning properly: "keming." We were fortunate enough to witness the creation of Notflixing (when you return a Netflix movie without having watched it) and we're pleased to have been around early to see the birth of this wonderful word. Second, we turn to something we read has been circulating around via e-mail for a while, but we must just not be well-liked enough to have received it: the cut-out Instant Architect (which we also think could be considered "The Instant Faux-Artist," "The Instant Designer," or even, "The Instant Everyone Who Lives In Our Neighborhood Who Owns a Two Million Dollar House"). And last up, this time by way of Waxy, is Torontoist's story on uncovering the creators of a very clever marketing campaign currently blanketing Toronto, for a seemingly-medicinal product called "Obay." It's a great story about digging for the man behind the curtain on a teaser campaign, but also just a great set of ads in the first place. Email This Post |
