iDesign, So You Don’t Have To

idesign.jpg

While we’ve been strolling Hollywood Boulevard waiting for a slick producer to approach us with the concept for the first TV show about product design, it turns out there already is one. “iDesign” on the Fine Living channel “puts the spotlight on cutting-edge products for an inside look at how and why they were developed.”

Recent episodes focus on Armani and autos, but there’s an episode on the Eames, and one on Michael Graves, the “original celebrity designer” (take that, celeb naysayers). With the download of some mysterious plug-in you can view these short subjects on the design development of things like diamonds and utensils. Cutting-edge, indeed.
