Ikea Rides Our Non-Beige Coattails

Jet-lagged and delirious, we made our way into Terminal 1 at LAX early one morning only to be assaulted by what we thought was the Bad Taste Circus–outrageous orange and green stripes plastered along the wall. Turns out it was just an ad takeover by someone with pretty good taste, Ikea. The tagline, which we were not at all assaulted by, was Be Brave, Not Beige, which we now wish we’d copyrighted back in ’86.

We’re not entirely sure why they went for ORANGE and GREEN instead of the delightful patterns that you can actually find at Ikea, but to make up for it, there’s an entire site named Be Brave Not Beige, where you can play with their colors and patterns (and with a drumming Phil Spector lookalike to boot). Just promise us you’ll never forget who was not beige first, okay?
