Rare is the magazine that was founded 110 years ago and named for a railroad line (Southern Pacific's Sunset Limited), but Sunset is no ordinary magazine. Dedicated to "living in the west," Sunset recently added Dwell veteran Allison Arieff to its staff as editor-at-large and continues to ramp up its design coverage (especially the eco-friendly kind) in addition to its mainstay topics of travel, gardening, home, and food and wine. Now the magazine is looking for a senior designer to join its lushly gardened offices in Menlo Park, California. In addition to some experience in magazine or book publishing, the right candidate will "understand sequential design, and be able to tell a story using visual tools and devices" in addition to wielding layout and typographic design skills. And while gardening expertise is by no means required, it probably wouldn't hurt to know a globe thistle from a sneezeweed.
