"She's going to work at Hachette Filipaaaaaaacchi. She's going to work at Elle!" Surely we can't be the only ones who treasure this gem of an Isaac Mizrahi non sequitur from the 1994 documentary Unzipped (which, incidentally, was co-produced by Hachette and Miramax). Isaac could be describing you, should you heed Elle's call for a senior designer/associate art director. The search is on for a strong designer who will be responsible for "designing assigned features and sections with opportunity to add his or her vision to this rapidly evolving publication." And they're not kidding about the "rapidly evolving" part. Since the magazine's September 2007 redesign spearheaded by design director Paul Ritter, the book has been getting more visually exciting—and nuanced—by the issue. We suggest prepping for your interview by spending some quality time with Elles from the 80s and perfecting your pronounciation of "Gilles Bensimon."
