The cocktail portion of today’s Core77 Offsite event is still jumping over at the Art Directors Club, but we knew you wouldn’t have wanted us to waste any time in posting this photo of Kidrobot founder (and Core77 event panelist) Paul Budnitz modeling the just-released Burton Kidrobot Custom Plus snowboard and not-yet-released screaming purple snowboarding jacket.
Over a year in the making, the snowboard is the inaugural collaboration between Kidrobot and Burton. The board features a topsheet graphic of the “Kidrobot head” character and a base graphic depicting a collage of such Kidrobot characters as the Dunny, Smoking Labbit, and Icebot. Artists whose characters appear on the board include Budnitz, Frank Kozik, Dalek, Tilt, and Sket One.
But Budnitz was even more excited about giving the audience a sneak peek of the new Kidrobot snowboarding jacket, which he said he just received (we think this may be the first photo of the item, which has not yet been unveiled by Burton). Lined with a technicolor collage of characters, the satiny puffer jacket is patterned with tone-on-tone Kidrobot heads.
More coming soon about the Core77 event, which also included Ze Frank, Kelly Dobson, the always delightful Steven Heller, and someone purporting to be Tobias Wong. But more about that later.
