Kolektiv Sounds Foreign So It Must Be Hella Stylin’

We’re pun-tastic folks over here. Which is why we, almost without fail, read at least the last line in our daily Daily (we love the department of redundancy department) Candy email. Today’s brought this gem: “Be sure to tell them the Czech’s in the mail.”

We’re hardly strangers to Czech puns or Prague shout-outs, so we were the most psyched to discover that a new furniture store just opened in Dumbo. The Candies:

Um. Yes. Yes, it is.

What do pre- and postwar Czech furnishings look like? Simple lines, smart shapes, lots of lacquer, and a heavy dose of the Bauhaus. Which is all somehow perfect for now. We’re hot for a slick, three-drawer cream credenza; a shiny red, glass-topped serving cart on wheels; heavy leather armchairs with chrome tubing; and super slender seats made from bent plywood and upholstered suede.

They’re hot for credenzas. We’re hot for Czechs. Perfect.
