Why Dwight With Clothes On Is So Much Better Than Pam NakedStanding, as we do, at newsstands for hours at a time, it was downright impossible not to notice the synergy currently practiced by New York Magazine and Wired. Except where New York Mag is funny and spot-on, Wired is gimmicky and sad. New York Magazine: A guide to suriving office life. So you see "The Office" star Rainn Wilson weathering the storm in a cubicle, and you get a cool article about famous NYers desks. Wired: A guide to "radical transparency". You get Jenna Fischer, with clothes on, and naked (kind of), and a botched story about Microsoft's supposed "radical transparency." We love Fischer, clothes or not, but with all due respect to Wired's creative director Scott Daditch, who tries to explain the concept, poorly, you've already made up "the law of optical volumes" this year. We're not sure we're letting you get away with "radical transparency," too. Email This Post |
