Kudos to the cool kids at Paper, who scored the supremely talented artist and photographer Marilyn Minter to shoot actress Julianne Moore for the magazine’s art-themed October issue. As we saw in her stunning portfolio for June’s Allure, Minter excels at photographing freckled redheads, perhaps because she is one herself. The photos for Paper feature her signature gritty glam gleam, and Moore was a model model. “We just just have her bangs and enhanced her freckles,” Minter told Paper, raving about Moore’s “great Celtic skin.”

Why an art issue now? “Because on some intuitive level we knew that at this pivotal time for the nation and the planet, on the eve of an election with such crucial consequences, we need art more than ever.”
