MIT Developing Super Concrete That Lasts 16,000 Years

In an effort to make the building industry a bit more environmentally conscious, while perhaps also helping users keep away from having to join The Rubble Club, engineers at MIT have announced that they’ve come up with a new form of concrete that will last perhaps as long as 16,000 years. We don’t fully understand the science behind it all, which explains why we’re not employed as researchers at MIT (also, we didn’t do so well in the talent portion of the competition), but from what we gather, it has to do with figuring out how to slow down the gradual, natural decomposition in concrete (Inhabitat has a nice, quick, much better explanation, along with some photos).
