MLK Memorial Clears One Big Blockade

We never thought we’d see the day, but it looks as though the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial may soon be totally approved and will start to see a light at the end of the tunnel. The National Capitol Planning Commission has given the go ahead for the location and the architectural plans, with only minor modifications, much to the relief of all involved in this project which has undergone numerous stand stills over the past few years. Though there still is that one final “okay” looming in the distance:
The memorial must still gain the approval of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts later this month.
Still, with one down and one to go, this has to be a pretty good weekend for the MLK Jr. Memorial crew.
