While it’s not often that advertising is critiqued on the Senate floor, when a group of legislators decided to pass along their comments about this recent MoveOn.org ad, the consensus was universally two thumbs down. Even President Bush, who is widely known for the insightful criticism he once wrote about the Got Milk campaign, and a popular article he penned praising the cultural relevance of the Jared Fogle Subway ads, was not impressed: “I thought the ad was disgusting.”
Mr. Bush added: “That was a sorry deal. It’s one thing to attack me; it’s another thing to attack somebody like General Petraeus.”
Very well, then. We’ll go back to attacking you.
