Muchas Migas At Las Manitas
(Camera battery was dead from taking almost a half hour video of drunk people swarming 6th Street the night before. We promise to return for photos (and lunch) but here’s a little help in the meantime from a friend at Flickr.)
There’s nothing better than passing out knowing that beans, cheese, salsa, eggs and tortillas await you in the form of a much-touted delicacy prepared in a kitchen located just six short blocks from your hotel. It’s a SXSW tradition: if you’re drinking tequila at 2am, you’re at Las Manitas Avenue Cafe for Migas Con Queso sometime before noon.
Our breakfast delight was enhanced by the company of Andrew Otwell (to whom we must reiterate our eternal gratitude for inviting us to this gem), Liz Danzico of AIGA and Boxes & Arrows, Adam Greenfield, plus Thomas Vander Wal (he coined the term “folksonomy”) and on the way out, spotted Jeffrey Zeldman with his family, about to have his Las Manitas moment.
